Moong Chilla Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow lentils)
- 1 inch ginger piece
- 2 green chillies
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Pinch of asafoetida (hing)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Rinse moong dal thoroughly and soak in water for 4-5 hours.
- Drain the soaked dal completely. Blend it with ginger, green chillies, and cumin seeds, adding minimal water to make a smooth batter.
- Transfer the batter to a bowl, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt, and chopped coriander. Mix well.
- The batter should be of pouring consistency; adjust with a little water if too thick.
- Heat a non-stick griddle, lightly grease with oil. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread evenly into a thin circle.
- Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook until golden brown and crisp on both sides.
- Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt.
