Chicken Cafreal Recipe

Ingredients
- 500g chicken pieces (leg or thigh)
- 1 cup fresh coriander leaves
- 6-8 green chilies
- 1-inch ginger, 6-7 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 5-6 black peppercorns, 2 cloves, 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 3-4 tbsp Goan coconut vinegar
- 3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Grind coriander, green chilies, ginger, garlic, cumin, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, and Goan vinegar to a smooth, vibrant green paste.
- Marinate chicken pieces thoroughly with the cafreal paste and salt for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight).
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan or skillet over medium heat.
- Place marinated chicken pieces in the pan and cook, turning occasionally.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked through and gravy thickens.
- Serve hot with Goan pao or rice.
