Foxtail Millet Pulao — Indian dinner dish served ready to eat

Ingredients

  • 1 cup foxtail millet, rinsed
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf

  • 2 cups water

Method

  1. 1Dry-roast cumin, bay leaf, cloves, and cinnamon in a pan.
  2. 2Add onion with a splash of water, cook till soft.
  3. 3Add ginger-garlic paste and vegetables; sauté 2 minutes.
  4. 4Add foxtail millet and water, season with salt.
  5. 5Cover and simmer on low for 15 minutes till water is absorbed.
  6. 6Rest covered for 5 minutes, fluff, and serve hot.
