Goan Fish Fry Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 Kingfish or Mackerel steaks, 1-inch thick
- 2 tbsp Goan red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp kokum juice or lime juice
- 1/2 cup fine semolina (rawa)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup coconut oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Marinate fish steaks with red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, kokum juice, and salt for 20 minutes.
- Mix semolina and rice flour in a shallow plate.
- Heat coconut oil in a large flat pan over medium heat.
- Dredge each marinated fish steak evenly in the semolina-rice flour mixture.
- Gently place the coated fish steaks in the hot oil.
- Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown, crispy, and cooked through.
- Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels; serve immediately.
